filexlib. Create a project directory within the $HOME/OpenFOAM directory named <USER>-10 (e.g. chris-10 for user chris and OpenFOAM version 10) and create a directory named run within it, e.g. by typing: mkdir -p $FOAM_RUN Copy across the backward facing step example, generate the mesh with blockMesh and run the steady flow, incompressible solver simpleFoam
Once downgraded, rerun openfoam10-linux Step 6: Testing openfoam10-linux Follow the standard process to test the installation, first creating the run directory: mkdir -p $FOAM_RUN Copy across the backward facing step example, generate the mesh with blockMesh and run the steady flow, incompressible solver simpleFoam:
blockMesh is one of the most basic mesh generators in OpenFOAM. It relies on a single dictionary file blockMeshDict, usually placed inside the folder constant/polyMesh. The latest official documentation on how to use blockMesh can be found on the OpenFOAM User Guide and online at the OpenFOAM Foundation website at this page: 5.3 blockMesh
I’ve been trying to generate a prism cell since a few days ago but i can’t find the proper way. I read the way to collapse points in the Guide, some advices here in the forum coming from advanced users but I still have problems executing blockMesh. Here is my blockMeshDict file after having read how to implement a prism cell:

The OpenFOAM User Guide includes a chapter on meshing. It begins with the mesh structure of OpenFOAM and the handling of boundaries and boundary conditions. It describes the blockMesh application for generating meshes of simple geometries in detail, followed by the snappyHexMesh application and its control parameters.
OpenFOAM 10 is a major new release of OpenFOAM, accompanied by ParaView 5.6.3, compiled with the official OpenFOAM reader module. It is packaged for Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04 and 22.04.For macOS, we provide instructions below on using Docker for Mac to provide a self-contained environment for OpenFOAM 10 that includes code, runtime, system tools and libraries.
The user can scan the tutorials for mesh generation configuration files, e.g. blockMeshDict for blockMesh (see section 5.3) and snappyHexMeshDict for snappyHexMesh (see section 5.4, for examples of different types being used. The following example provides documentation and lists cases that use the symmetryPlane condition. foamInfo -a symmetryPlane
