ゲストI had a 2016 Toyota Fortuner inspected in Dubai Investment Park by a company offering Trusted Assessment Dubai Investment Park. The report came back with a few issues, worn front brake pads (about 15% left), a cracked serpentine belt, and a small power steering fluid leak from a hose. The seller is asking 65k AED which is about average for the mileage. I want to ask him to fix these items before I buy, or at least split the cost. He’s refusing and says I should just budget for them myself because the car is priced fairly for its age. I’m trying to decide if I’m being unreasonable. The repairs would cost me maybe 1,500 AED at an independent shop. Should I walk away over that amount or just accept that used cars aren’t perfect? I really like the car otherwise. Has anyone else successfully negotiated for the seller to make repairs after an inspection? Or is it more common to just adjust the price? The seller is firm on price so I’m leaning toward just buying it and fixing the issues myself. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
