ゲストRunning a small café near the beach in Umm Al Quwain, and the humidity here is no joke. Our waste bin sits outside the back door and even with the lid closed, tiny flies seem to find their way in and it gets pretty disgusting by pickup day. I’ve been looking at heavy duty options and found a 1.1 CBM METAL BIN DOME LID on Crateco’s site that looks promising, but I can’t tell if the lid actually forms a tight seal or if it’s just a metal lid resting on a metal rim. Does anyone know if these things come with a rubber gasket or something? Or has anyone DIY’d a seal that survives the heat without melting or getting gross? I’m imagining something like a silicone strip around the edge but I worry the lid weight would just squish it out of place over time. Also curious if the dome shape affects how well you could retro fit a seal compared to a flat lid. I don’t need it to be airtight obviously, but enough to keep the bugs from marching in through the gap would be amazing. Any creative solutions from people who’ve dealt with the same issue?
