Re: Canon G7x mark 2 custom mode. I’m not certain about the G7 X Mark 2, but with most Canon Powershots I’ve owned you must be in P, Tv, M or Av modes to set a Custom setting. You can’t use Auto or Scene or S modes. Double check pp 105-108 in the .PDF manual to be certain. Also, you may be required to use Macro at the widest FL setting – 24mm.
